How Can An Insect Bite On The Right Hand Be Treated?

Hi! I got stung on my right hand by something in a bush and then I noticed a knot on the top of my right arm. I went to the dermatologist because my hand was itching bad. He scraped the site where I was stung to make sure the stinger was not still in the skin. He said the knot in my arm was a swollen lymph node and it should go down in a week. It has been 2 weeks since I got stung and the knot is still there. Just wondering if there is any reason to be concerned.

Hello,my name is dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are:
1-Intermittent cold packs or ice may reduce swelling.
2-you may treat itching at the site of the bite with an over-the-counter antihistamine such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl) in cream or pill form. -3-3-Calamine lotion also helps relieve the itching.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other question Ill be glad to help.
Regards,
