How Can An Internal Injury In The Chest Of An Infant Be Diagnosed?

Hi. My baby is 5 weeks old and had open heart surgery at 10 days old.. my dog (fairly big and heavy) startled at the sound of a knock at the door and ran to it, stepping on babies chest on the way. Baby screamed but calmed down after a cuddle. Should I have him checked?

Hello,

Yes, please get it examined by a local general practitioner. If the child is calm and taking feeds, passing urine or feces normally there is not much to worry. But as an extra precaution get the child examined.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
