How Can An Itchy And Red Rash On The Arms Be Treated?

I have a red, very itchy bumpy rash on my arms and legs. It looks similar to bumpy razor burn and I ve had it for 5 days. I have treated it with otc hydrocortisone cream, oral benedyrl, and taking daily oatmeal baths but it is not going away. I don t have allergies and I haven t traveled outside the US for years. What can I do to make this go away?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having acneform eruption.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like doxycyline, minocycline given only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
