How Can An Ovarian Cyst Be Treated?

Hi doctor, I m 28 yrs i hv an ovarian cyst of size 6.6 x 6.1 cm in my left ovary my gyno gave me antibiotics n my pain go away..could these cysts shrink or disappear after sometime with medicines or they need to be removed..there is no cul-de-sac found in my cyst..

Hi I think if the cyst is clear, it can reduce in size. Get a CA125 level done to find out if there is any risk of malignancy or not. If cyst is complex in nature, get a CT scan done. These will help you in deciding the mode of treatment. If cyst is clear, you can try 3 months of hormonal treatment consisting of oestrogen and progesterone. Repeat a scan after one month. Hope it helps.
