How Can An Ovulation Test Help While Trying To Conceive?

trying to get pregnant. I used an ovulation test this past week, thursday and friday negative, saturday morning positive, we tried saturday night and sunday night. Is that the proper way to do it. I read online that you should be trying before a postive ovulation test.

Hi,
I would say whatever you have done looks right.
If ovulation test is positive; it indicates that the ovulation can happen within 24-36 hours(12-72 hours) of the positive test. And you must have sex within 48-60 hours of the positive test as the ova usually survives for 24 hours after its release.
In general, having sex on the day and for next two days of the positive test increases the chance of pregnancy. Also, as sperm can survive for 5 days, having sex even before ovulation test will also help.
As I look into your description, you do fall in almost the right period and the chances are high that you will be pregnant.
I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healhtcaremagic. Have a wonderful day. All the best for your parenthood.
