How Can Anal Itching And Bloody Bowel Movements Be Treated?
For anal itching, rash, blood on toilet paper, burning when passing stool - have been to family dr, obgyn, all have given steroids, and cremes, but no cause. This has gone on for 2 years, and is worsening. Would a proctologist be able to help, or are they strictly surgeons?

Some advice that I can give to you is:
- Apply an over-the-counter hemorrhoid cream or suppository containing hydrocortisone.
- Use pads containing witch hazel or a numbing agent.
- Soak regularly in a warm bath or sitz bath. Soak your anal area in plain warm water 10 to 15 minutes two to three times a day.
