Hi,

It is normal for children to loose their appetite for a while after a viral infection. As long as he is active and playful as previously no special interventions are needed but just observation. You can help him eat better by offering frequent small amounts of food and fluids and by allowing him to eat himself.

It is important that even if he does not eat enough at least he should drink fluids well.If no improvement of appetite in 2 weeks and you think he is continuing to loose weight then he will need to be seen by a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
