Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
We are looking for an arthritis remedy. Capsidium seems to be okay, and there is a form of that known as zyloft or something similar. As we understand, this is an OTC medication that is comprised mainly of red pepper. Please educate us on this. Thanks.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Capsicum doesn't have any proven beneficial effect on arthritis. It might have some symptomatic relief but no physician recommend it as a sole treatment. It is better to go for proper treatment rather than trying alternatives and OTC medicines. Consult a rheumatologist and get evaluated and start proper treatment to avoid unwanted complications.
Wishing you good health.
