How Can Arthritis In The Thumbs Be Treated?

I ve been diagnosed with arthritis at the lower joints in both my thumbs. What, if any supplement is effective for treating this condition. I ve heard of Glucosamine etc. and I am scheduled to have cortisone injections in April. I see sometimes Hyaluronic Acid is used. Thank you for your consideration. John Hitchings

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Hyaluronic acid - no. Glucosamine - no. Steroid injection - maybe/yes. Try NSAIDs if you can stomach it and don't have heart condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
