How Can Attachment Disorder In Be Treated?

My adopted granddaughter age 16 was adopted ten years ago. Before that she was in two foster homes and suffers from Detachment Disorder ADHA and at the moment tried to cut herself and has been placed in a proper facility in Texas. Please advise if you have therapists that can help with Detachment Disorder as she has a lovely home with two other siblings and her brother (who also was adopted with her ten years ago) The family lives in Austin, Texas Zip Code 78748 My e-mail address is YYYY@YYYY

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Usually attachment related anxiety and depression do clear themselves when the person gets enough exposure and medical attention. That therapy is called desensitization therapy. Talk to your doctor .

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards,
Dr. K. V. Anand
