How Can Bacterial Vaginosis Be Treated?

I recently was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis and was given metronidazole 500 mg to treat it. It did go away but two months later if seems to be back. The odor not as strong before but, I do have a white creamy discharge. Why did it come back?

Hello,my name is dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are:     
-Bacterial vaginosis usually clears up in 2 or 3 days with antibiotics, but treatment goes on for 7 days.
-Avoid having sex during the time that you are being treated.
-Continue treatment during your menstrual period.
-Avoid drinking alcohol during treatment with metronidazole
