Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Basal septal hypertrophy is nothing but abnormal thickening of septum connecting your ventricles (heart chamber). Mild basal septal hypertrophy is an incidental finding in echo cardiogram and does not requires any treatment. Prolonged hypertension is the commonest cause genetic causes are unlikely. As of n ow no particular treatment is required. Continue your antihypertensives and six monthly echo is recommended to assess the progress of the disease. You can consult a cardiologist for expert opinion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
