How Can Bleeding In The Mouth After A Rhinoplasty Be Treated?
Hi, i got a rhinoplasty with threads, the one where they just adjust the tip of the nose, it was four days ago, a few hours after the rhinoplasty my nose stopped bleeding, but today while i was eating i opened my mouth and felt like a thread had broke and then i started bleeding with mocus and some sort of black sticky fluid and i dont know what to do or if a thread actually broke or if its just that a crust broke inside my nose or If tissue was torn, i dont have tooth pain and i feel pain just in one nostril, the nostril were i felt like the thread broke but i dont know if that is possible
It is not uncommon that some rhinoplasty patients coughbloody phlegm after their surgery; the bleeding does get trapped with the phlegm.
However, if the bleeding worsens then I recommend that you seek an examination by an ENT wherever you are in case you were not able to reach your surgeon.
The blackish fluid can be due to old blood trapped somewhere in the passage..
Finally, I advise you to clean your nose with a nasal saline spray which will enhance your recovery pace.
In case if bleeding is active and too much then immediately consult an Emergency room..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
