How Can Blood Pressure Be Lowered?

Hi just took my blood pressure it is 163/104 I took it again went to 159/100. I drink beer everyday and been working on the road for the last two years and haven t eaten very well. If I cut the beer out and eat healthy how long would it take for the blood pressure to go down.
