How Can Blood Pressure Levels Be Kept Under Control?

Yesterday when my husband was at the doctor his BP was 200/180, they gave him 3 clonidine right away. It came down to 180 over something before they let him go home. All that they did was put him valsartan/hydrochlorothiazide and 25mg of carvedilol twice a day. What else should they be doing?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Your blood pressure is very high and it's hypertensive urgency

If needed than your doctor will also prescribe you sodium nitroprusside like antihypertensive infusion for rapid improvement

Your ophthalmoscopy examination done to look for papilloedema or other ophthalmic change if occurs
