How Can Blood Sugar Levels Be Kept Under Control During Pregnancy?

Mam I am 4 month pregnant..now my sugar level is varying... I was admitted on hospital for cervical encerclage..on 3 rd April ..on that day fasting sugar is 100 and aftr meal 110.. aftr my surgery when they checked mrng 107 aftr food 129...they ask me to admit in hsptl for insulin treatment...we are nt ready at Tym.so they ask to leave .today I checked pre lunch it s only 89...do I need to do insulin

Hi,

Need for insulin or oral hypoglycemic medications cannot be concluded by just fasting and after meal plasma glucose levels.

You need to take the glucose challenge test (GCT) or Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT). Depending on the values, it would determine the requirement for medications.

Kindly consult Obstetrician for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
