How Can Body Ache Along With Fever Be Treated?
I m 76 and have the flu. Bossy lady says no, go to hospital. I feel an aura of flu over myself (twice), hurt all over, chills/fever at times, bones hurt worse, chest hurts some. hunger fluctuates, HAD to some chores so don t think I m that bad off. Problem: Neighbor lady says it came on gradually but flu hits one suddenly. I talked to her on the phone she says I would be laying flat in bed and could not talk. She thinks I have something worse and not going to hospital might make it worse. Could you tell her who s right and why? Or just let me know yes or no? Thank you for being there to answer everyone s questions. Thank you for studying so hard to become a doctor.

That lady is partially correct but you don't have to panic. It is better to check with a doctor, obviously. But, while HCM is there, we are here to help you as much as we can. If required, we will tell you to check with a doctor.
I would like to give some tests:
1. Complete Blood Tests
2. Bone Mineral Density
3. Test for Rheumatoid factor and anti-citrullinated protein antibodies.
After these results, we can understand what is happening in you. Meanwhile, I also suggest you to have a good diet and light diet.
If there is too much fever, take Paracetamol.
After the test result, I can give you more treatment. But the above treatment will control these problems much.
