How Can Bone Spur On The Heel Be Treated?

Believe I have a bone spur on bottom of my heel. Very painful to walk on that area. Must use additional insoles in shoes to walk, and still my heel is incredibly painful. Had plantar fasciitis before and this is similar except only involves my left heel. What can I do for relief and or treatment?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Non surgical method are effective in most cases,You can take simple analgesics like diclofenac or ibuprofen for pain,
Stretching exercise and physiotherapy would be highly effective,Consult a good physiotherapist he might demonstrate various exercises to tackle the pain and discomfort.
Some modification of your shoe will be helpful to prevent pain and progression of disease.Shoe inserts and devices can also be tried.
Surgery is required for only few cases,Surgery is by minor procedures by removal or splitting of thick fascia of foot.Consult an orthopedician if non surgical measures fails.
You can prevent heel spurs by wearing well-fitting shoes and stretching exercises.

Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.

Regards.
