How Can Bowel Incontinence In A Child Be Treated?

my grandson is 6 years old. Since he was born he had problems with his pooping. they were huge almost baseball size poop. Now since age 5, he cannot feel when he needs to go to potty. We have kept him in training pants. He cannot go to school due to his classmates constantly teasing him cause of his smell and he doesn t know he pooped. The specialist said he sphincter muscles should return to normal but we have not seen an improvement. Can you help me with my question?

Hi,

I think you should consider visiting a pediatric surgeon. Maybe the sphincter needs reconstruction by surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
