How Can Breast Milk Supply Be Increased?

Hi my baby is 3 month old, he was born at 36 weeks and weighed 2.2 kg at birth. Now at 3 months his weight is 5 kg,. He is both breastfed and formula fed. Since my supply is not much, usually pump out about 2 full feeds in 5 to 6 pumping sessions, please suggest how to enhance the supply. Also he feeds every 3 to 4 hours and about 120 ml each time, is this quantity sufficient for him?

Hi,

There is not a special regimen to increase the breast milk supply.

You can eat more carbohydrates like bread and milk to your diet. Also use plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

There is no need to measure the breast milk you are producing. Just put the baby on the breast and let him feed as much as he wants till he lets it by himself. This takes 20-30 minutes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
