How Can Breathing Difficulty While Suffering From Lung Cancer Be Treated?
My mother has been diagnosed with Non small cell lung cancer. Her breathing is getting worse weekly. She is tired and has no appetite. She has just obtained an appointment for consultation for April 18. My question is, is there a way to get an appointment for a sooner date? The office of Kaiser in Baldwin Park stated there are no sooner appointments. Would you consider her condition serious and that it it is imperative they move the appointment up. She then will need to make another appointment to get treatment. This again may take time, she may not have. Can you help?
The breathing difficulty with lung cancer is compromised lung capacity to get enough oxygen and maintain oxygen saturation levels in the pulmonary circuit which ultimately goes to the systemic circulation.
Though the appointment order cannot be changed by other ways, you can get a prescription of bronchial dilator from your doctor to get relief till the appointment time. At home, preference of semi reclining position, avoidance of exposure to pollen, smoking is the best ways to support her.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
General & Family Physician
