How Can Bronchitis Along With Shortness Of Breath Be Treated?
I recently had bronchitis and found out I was allergic to lisinopril. Now when i go to bed and go to sleep for about 1 1/2 hours I wake up with shortness of breath, cough, dry throat. Then I am fine during the day. At bedtime it starts allover again for the last three nights.
As per your clinical history, you had recent bronchitis so it will take at least 2 weeks to heal completely. So during this time, you can discuss with your Doctor for prescription medicine for cough and acute broncospasm [Terbutaline Sulphate + Ambroxol Hydrochloride + Guaiphenesin] and follow lifestyle modification like this-
1) Try to avoid cigarette smoke.
2) Discuss with your Doctor for a yearly flu vaccine that can help you protect from getting the flu. You may also want to consider vaccination that protects against some types of pneumonia.
3) Try to wash your hands. To reduce your risk of catching a viral infection, wash your hands frequently and get in the habit of using hand sanitizers.
4) Try to wear a surgical mask if you go outside.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
