How Can Bronchitis Be Treated While Suffering From Serum Sickness?

My daughter has had a serum illness a few years ago and had to have epipherine (two shots In her heart). She is now very ill with bronchitis and she is afraid to take any antibiotic because she almost died the last time she had an antibiotic. She had the reaction about two weeks after taking the drug and it was in the middle of the night. If she had not lived close the hospital, she would have died. Any suggestions you can give would be appreciated as to how to treat her present illness. Her doctor is suggesting a different antibiotic. HELP!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
sorry for your daughter.
Dont worry about antibiotic, the past history of antibiotic reaction is a hypersensitivity reaction, it can happen in any person.

ALWAYS MENTION THAT ANTIBIOTIC NAME WHEN YOU WILL VISIT FOR DOCTOR.
My openion :
1.If your child got infection there is no problem with different type of antibiotic (be carefull about ist dose)

2.Bronchitis can be treat according to cause.

consult with your dr, thanks
