Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM
I have read and understood your concern.Sorry to hear you have been struggling with bronchitis for over a month now.
In most cases, acute bronchitis improves within a few days without lasting effects, although you may continue to cough longer. It is usually caused by respiratory viruses and need only symptomatic treatment. However, persistence of symptoms may signal a bacteria infection or superinfection and will need antibiotics. The list f the antibiotics you have taken would have been good for us to see if all possible germs have been targeted.Given the fact that symptoms are persisting, if i were your treating Doctor, i will investigate further with tests like:
-Chest X ray if not yet done
-Sputum exam and may be culture/sensitivity
In the meantime, i will suggest you try the following:
*Avoid cold/irritants like dust and smoke
*Take a mucolytic like carbocysteine 5%
*A steroid like prednisolone
*Take enough water
You may see your Doctor to review you antibiotics list and judge the need for more potent antibiotics.
Hope this will help
Wish you a speedy recovery. You may write back if more concerns
