How Can Burn Wounds On The Arms Be Treated?

I have burns on most of my lower section of my arm the worst part of the burn a very dark brown and some white. There isnt much pain on that part. They burn was caused by boiling hot Chile Verde. I was given an antibiotic cream and was told to keep it wrapped by a Dr at an Instacare. I am worried that it may be 3rd degree burns on that area and will leave scaring. Should I do more?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

For all you can do is taking antibiotics and wound care. You can do a culture test from the bump to choose the best antibiotic. Apply Silverex ointment and keep the wound open, it will fasten the healing and decreases the chances for scarring and contracture. Some amount of scarring will be there and it can be managed later.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
