Hello,

There is no such a term as prediabetes in medical language, the person has diabetes or not or may have increased glucose intolerance which means that the fasting glucose is normal but glucose goes very high with meals.
If a patient has diabetes even though the values are not too high, still he may get neuropathy. Some patients have very high glucose levels and don't develop it and some have very mildly affected levels and they still may develop neuropathy.

I would advise you to talk to your doctor and have a proper check up. If you have been trying the diet and other conservative measures to control diabetes and still the values of glucose fasting and after load and the HbA1C are not normal you will need medications for diabetes.

There are other causes of peripheral neuropathy so your doctor will need to do a thorough examination and determine the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
