Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor I swallowed a spoonful of very hot dessert which I heated in the microwave..it just burnt my insides at that time.. so I had some yoghurt and coconut water for relief. The pain has subsided a bit but even now when I eat something warm, I feel the burn... Will it get better by the time?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain due to taking hot desert there has been thermal burn of the mucosa of throat and food pipe leading to ulceration.. As it takes some time to resolve therefore you are having burning sensation on eating anything hot.. I would suggest you to take Ibuprofen to reduce pain and inflammation.. You can also take Sucralfate as it will help in coating the ulcerated areas and will help in reducing pain and further injury.. Drink plenty of cool water.. You can also cool your food to room temperature to prevent pain and further burning.. Avoid spicy and hard foods..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
