How Can Cartilage Swelling With Soreness Be Treated?

I got my cartilge pierced last Monday. Everything was fine till this morning when i woke up and found it red and a little bit swollen and a little bit sore. I am wondering if it might be an alergic reaction to the 14k white gold earing. What should i do?

Hello,

It can be a reaction to 14K gold due to presence of other metal along with it. It is important to remove the earring and use antibiotic ointment like Neosporin to avoid necrosis of Cartilage. You can use any pain killer like Tylenol in case it is painful. I will suggest to get an allergy test to make sure you don't have this issue again with this or any other metal.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
