How Can Cellulitis On The Nose Be Treated?

Hi I have just woken up with what is the beginning of cellulitis on my nose. Im 36 weeks pregnant and due for a csection in 6 days. I know this is definately cellulitis as ive had this twice before in the last 3 years. Ive been on antibiotics for 5 days due to a chest infection, also taking pro biotics and vitamin C but can feel the ache and.sore getting bigger. Can this affect baby and will they possibly take her out earlier as the only way ive been able to get rid of it in the past is by IV antibiotics.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have to take antibiotics and get it resolved at the earliest. The cellulitis itself and antibiotics doesn’t harm your baby because you are nearing the end stage of your pregnancy. Start IV antibiotics preferably after consulting your gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
