How Can Chest Congestion And Shortness Of Breath Be Treated?

I have been coughing up a lot of mucas and am very short of breath. I have taken one full dose of a azithromycin 6 tables as directed. I have a second dose that i am going to start today. I took 2 puffs of symbicort and 2 puffs of spiriva this morning. I do not seem to be improving today.

Hi . welcome to "Ask A Doctor service." I have read your question and here is my .
Sorry to hear of what you been sufferings form .
If you have no chest probelm before , then these symptoms look like chest infection .if 6 days of azithromycin has not worked in would like you shoud see your doctor of re assessment and get xray and tests done. I personally would have changed antibiotics and would have sent a sputum culture and sensitivity.
