General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please take a course of antiviral [Acyclovir] and discuss medication [an antihistamine] for itching and give the kid only antiviral now and this will lessen the severity of the disease.

For prevention in future, discuss with your doctor about chickenpox vaccine (Varivax).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
