How Can Chlamydia Infection Be Transmitted To Partner?

I recently broke up with my ex partner 3weeks ago and i'm with a new party but recently got a call from my ex saying he's been feeling symptoms of chlamydia. But with the new partner we have used a condom. I was wondering how i can pass chlamydia to the new partner.

Chlamydial infection an be transmitted via sexual route.
However, the infection can be prevented from spreading to your partner by practicing protected sex.
Thus, the infection will not pass if you use barrier method of protection.
