How Can Cholesterol Levels Be Lowered?

My doctor wants me to go back on cholesterol lowering medication. I was on baycol years ago and really had some bad side effects from muscle aches and I think even a little diarrhea. What is the recommended drug of choice now, with minimal side effects. I just got back from a 2 week vacation of wining and dining. So I know that is why it is up. Total was 276. LDL 154 HDL 106 TRIG 79. Highest it has been. Should I wait to try to get it back down myself?

Hi,

Do lifestyle changes, avoid fatty food, oily and junk food, reduce weight, increase physical activity and quit smoking. Take tablet Atorva. Repeat lipid profile after 6 months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
