How Can Chronic Backache Be Treated?

For the last two years I have experienced chronic pain. Over the last several months the pain has become much worse and has changed my quality of life. I was married last September and with the marriage my daughters and I became part of a blended family; the blended family has created immense stress and anxiety in my life which I thought may be an underlying cause. I am experiencing, daily (some days more debilitating than others), the following symptoms: pain in and around my rib cage (area is sensitive to the touch and is constant), chronic back pain (primarily lower back, but also includes upper), muscle weakness (in both arms and legs), and extreme fatigue. I am prone to kidney infections and am uncertain if the symptoms are related to my kidneys. My last visit to my doctor showed that my rheumatoid factor was slightly elevated, but a visit to a rheumatologist determined that it was not rheumatoid arthritis. At this point I am unsure who to see- though I have scheduled an appointment with a urologist- and am desperate for both relief and a diagnosis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
You seem to have chronic uti with pains at various levels of body.,muscle weakness ... might be due to
-severe weakness/low serrum calcum &vitamine D due to long running uti.
- some degeneration at vertebral/disc level.
- only lumber back pain can be attributed to kidney infection.
*In this context you need to get full investigations &full physical examination to determine basic cause of your health disturbance.
- urine culture &sensitivity would find antibiotic to cure the infection .. when taken for sufficient time under expert nephrilogist.
-Serrum calcium, vitamin D values., total hemogram would suggest needful nutritional suppliments .
-X rays of spine would find any bony parhology &orthopedic surgeon eould help you for solving the problem.
Thanks.
