Hi,

Since your wife has a history of chronic bronchitis and now she has spread of the infection with lung collapse, she ought to get intravenous aid, she is being correctly treated with intravenous Medrol and Azithromycin.

She may need oxygen therapy and bronchodilator medications. She is already getting antibiotics and steroids. Cough and mucus will stop only after the infection gets controlled & recovery starts.

Get all the investigations, imaging tests and follow up treatments done. Do continue to give her all the medications as prescribed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
