How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated While Suffering From Kidney Disease?

I have MS and kidney disease and chronic constipation (I m sure it s from meds). I only have a bowel movement if I take large doses of laxatives and now that isn t working. When I do have one it s usually dark (the color of black coffee), or the color of bile with the same consistency.
