How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?

My wife is a stroke victim. She is confined to a wheel chair. Does,nt stand. Has to be transferred using a hoyer lift. I am constantly fighting constipation with her. She is on multiple prescriptions, cymbalta and eliquis to name a couple. She gets a daily dose ofMiralax but still suffers from hard stools. Any suggestions?
