How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?

About a week ago I became constipated. For 3 days I didn t do anything thinking it would self correct. Then on day 4 my husband convinced my to take laxatives. Nothing. Next day took laxatives. Nothing. Showed my husband and he said my rectum had myriad protrusions. Called doctor and was told to try a enema. My husband and I were unable to even insert it. My doctor is on vacation and his office staff has been less than helpful, I am extremely uncomfortable. .They Ohio State University Medical Center us accessible, Should I go to emergency room? or let this run its course

Take magnesium water, Miralax laxatives have easier boiled food, more drinks and avoid sweets and red meat.
