How Can Chronic Cough And Chest Discomfort Be Treated?

Hello. I had a really bad cold that I thought might be the flu about three weeks ago; aches, pains, 100 degree fever, headache, cough that sounded like I was choking to death. It cleared up in about 10 days or so but several times over the last three weeks, anytime I get a whiff of anything strong, perfume, gas fumes, cigarette smoke, etc., I start coughing, deep in my chest and it feels like something should be coming up but nothing is and I taste metal. I'm not on any medications or allergic to anything. Could it be pneumonia or something along those lines. Please and thank you for your time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,my name is dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
Your symptoms dont seem to be related to pneumonia.
It seems like an allergy.
Anyway I suggest you to do an xray and a spirometry just for a confirmation of the diagnosis.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other question Ill be glad to help.
Regards,
