How Can Chronic Cough And Itching In The Throat Be Treated?

Hi, I have a constant cough which has increased in frequency in the past 3 days It started with an itchy irritated throat that made me want to cough to relieve the feeling. I have constant drainage of phlegm that is clear at this time. I have been exposed to my mother who was diagnosed with bronchitis. I m wondering if I have a cold or bronchitis. Whether it s something that has to run its course or if I should see a doctor for an antibiotic. Thank you, Alesha
