Hi, I m a 26 years old that have a productive cough that won t go away When it first started the doctor prescribed me antihistamines, after a month of those, I felt worse and another doctor prescribed decongestants, antibiotics and steroids. Those helped for a little, but once I finished the cure, the cough came back and another doctor gave me antihistamines and nasal spray which didn t help at all Rut, 33 minutes ago I don t know what to do anymore
A cough that is proactive and last for more than 2 weeks always need proper assessment to rule out chronic lung problems like TB, COPD etc.
So if antibi4amd antihistamine has not worked for you, you should go to chest doctor for getting X-ray chest and scan if needed, and some blood test so that the cause can be found and then properly managed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
