How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?

My wife has had cronic cough for over a year. Been to several doctors for a long time they were telling her she had a sinus drainage problem. Nothing prescribed has worked. Last week she went to throat specialist and he diagnosed her with silent acid reflux (LPD). Prescribed Nexum 4 times a day. We re into 3 weeks and she still coughes to the point of wearing her out. Do you have any suggestions?

Dear don't neglect chronic cough possible causes are:

1. Tropical pulmonary eosinophilia
2. Infections like tuberculosis
3. Connective tissue disorders / vasculitis syndromes
4. Pleuricy or malignancy
5. Cough variant of asthma
6.chronic bronchitis
7. Acid reflux
8. Heart failure/ allergic coughing
etc

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Need complete evaluation please consult your physician he will examine and you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
