How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?

Hi, I m a 60yr old female with a chronic cough for 10yrs. In searching for relief, my MD started me on Hydrocodone/homatropine pills. Finally! These worked. But, since they are a narcotic, he won t prescribe them anymore. He has started me on Bromide syrup. It s not working, plus the artificial sweetner in it is making me feel sick to my stomach with no appetite . No sleep for days and I m losing weight, not to mention the cough (I cough like I m coughing up a lung) Been to pulmonologist, Allergist, Gastroenterology and ENT. I have abnormal ciliary but everything else was normal. Any suggestions I m at my wits end.

Hi,

Consult a pulmonologist and get evaluated.

Chronic cough has to be evaluated to rule out conditions like tuberculosis and other lung conditions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
