How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?

My husband has been prescribed cephalexin 500mg for a chest infection, but after 8 days he is still coughing constantly. He was also prescribed Flagyl 400mg for an earlier bout this year and I am sure that was after 2 rounds of Cephalexin. Is it worth switching to the Flagyl?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Chronic Cough can be because of some allergic condition. If he is not responding to Cephalexin 500 mg,it is better to find out the exact cause of cough first than to switching to Flagyl.
