Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Take meloxicam 2 days on, 3 days off. Levothyroxine, ultram, zanaflex, Gabapentin and Trazadone for sleep. Have non-productive cough to where my torso is super sore. Whole household has the flu. But I ve no fever at all, so may be just a cold...? Is it safe to take cough suppressant to stop the pain?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hello,
In absence of fever and non-productive cough, the cause of your severe cough without sputum could be either allergic or inflammation of epiglottis (in throat).
You need expert consultation of ENT specialist/allergy specialist for cure. Till then, continue with hot saline gargles, avoid oily, spicy, cold, and sour things.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
