How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?

Today I have had a chest cough occasionally--since last night--but I have expectorated dark, chunky sputum a couple times. I have been flooding myself with fluids and do not have a fever. I watched grandchildren earlier in the week and all were or are now sick with fever, drainage, cough, sore throat, etc. What should I be watching for before seeking any treatment? I have had no sick calls to the doctor for years and years and have no health conditions.

Hello,

How old are you? A chronic cough means that lasts for more than eight weeks or longer. Causes are
1. Chronic bronchitis
2. Cough variant of asthma
3. Chronic allergies
4. Heart failure with pulmonary edema etcetera.

Avoid cool water and environment. Avoid smoking and pollution. Water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day useful. Use a tablet Deriphyllin twice a day for five days. Take tablet alday dc twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
