How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?

Hello my son who is 15 has had a bad cough for 3 weeks now, we think it is bronchitis but now wondering if we need to be concerned about pneumonia.? When we went to an urgent cars after the first week, he was given an inhaler and steroid. My son broke out in a rash all over his chest and back from the steroid so we discontinued use. He still has a cough like he s a lifelong smoker, do we need to go see a doctor again.

Hello,

I think you should consider visiting a doctor to Auscultate the lungs. I think he may suffer from asthma and needs to prove by spirometry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
