How Can Chronic Cough Caused By A Wind Pipe Irritation Be Treated?

This morning at breakfast I had just taken a spoonful of cherios and I felt a sneeze comin on, I tried to swallow quickly but apparently not quick enough. When I inhaled for the sneeze a soggy cheerio went down my windpipe. Since then I have been having intermittent periods of sever coughing. How loong will this last?

Cough will be there until the food particle come out of the windpipe, I suggest you to pat your back in the center region for few minutes continuously, it will help the food particle to come out quickly...
If symptoms persist i suggest you to consult a physician for other procedure as managment...
