How Can Chronic Diarrhea And Vomiting In An Infant Be Treated?
Hi doctor, My baby is 5 months one week old, 3 weeks back he suffered from severe diarrhea and we admitted him in hospital . He is not breastfeeding, I was giving him lactogen. In the hospital doctor suggested me to use zerolac powder instead lactogen for two weeks.. Then shift to lactogen. I did the same and I tried to give him lactogen after two feeds he started to do vomiting.. So again I gave him zerolac. After one week that is now I m trying to give him lactogen but he is not ready to drink, he is pushing the bottle outside. What should I do now? Can I continue with zerolac? Is it good for his growth? Ll he get all nutrition values? Pls suggest me. Thank you
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Zerolac is made from soymilk and it contains all the essential nutrients. If your child is not taking Lactogen you can switch over to Zerolac. You can also try to give him NAN pro which is easier to digest than Lactogen. It is advisable to consult your paediatrician once before doing this.
I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
