Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 41 year old white male. I have what I would describe as chronic diarrhea. I have a movement within 30 minutes of waking up every morning then usually within 15 minutes after eating but not all the time. There are days when ill have 4-5 attacks. I m generally seemingly healthy. I don t feel any pain in abdomen but before a sudden movement I will experience a very noticeable growl in my intestines. The diarrhea is consistent at every movement for maybe the last 15-20 years. There has never been any blood however the movements are a gassy blast of liquipoo sometimes very watery but not discolored. It doesn t seem to matter what I eat to distinguish a trigger although it doesn t happen every time after I eat. I know I need to see my doc but I m wondering what to expect. I should mention that this problem of mine seemed to start after a trip to Mexico in 2001 and contracted Montezuma revenge. I was treated with the antibiotic cipro and it seemed to remedy the problem at that time. But it seems to me that the chronic diarrhea started some time after that. Please advise
